Curriculum
We offer a 2-day, in-class certification course that focuses on both theoretical and practical applications for hot stone therapy.LicensedMassage Therapists will be eligible to receive Continuing Education Hours(CEs) Nationally
The first component of the course will focus on the history and theory of hot stone therapy based on material from within our instructional manual (included with your tuition price). The remainder of the day will be dedicated to learning a full body massage routine. All students will first observe a full body hot stone massage demonstration by the course instructor, before moving on to both give and receive a complete treatment themselves.
Topics covered during the course and in the manual include the following:
* History of hot stone therapy
* Crystal healing uses in Ancient and Modern medical practices
* Properties of basalt stones and other types of stones
* Effects of heat and cold on the body
* Benefits of hot and cold stone therapy and contraindications
* Purchasing your basalt stone set and how to heat the stones
* How to cleanse and re-energize your stones
* Hot stone massage techniques
* Massage oils and lotions
* How to perform a hot stone massage (full body routine)
* How to incorporate aromatherapy into hot stone therapy
* Integrating chakra work into hot stone/ crystal therapy
* Setting up your therapy room and getting started as a hot stone therapist
* and much, much more..
This 16 hour certification course is a 2 day hands on and lecture in class for 8 hours each day with scheduled breaks and lunch time. Followed by completion of a written exam. Certification requires completion of written exam. Completed work must be submitted to Body Seasonings for final grading purposes.

Deadline for sign up will be one week prior to class, if you have all the products
(hot stones and warmer) required.
Space is limited to 20 person capacity, so call now to register.
2 weeks if we need to order products(hot stones and warmer) for day of workshop.
Cancellation policy: 100 % refund 2 weeks or more.
If you cancel 1 week out, you will receive a full refund less the fee for product/books and pamphlets purchased on your behalf .
Less than one week, 50% plus purchases for the workshop. This amount may betransfered to another workshop within 1 year, if another is beingoffered, when you are ready to rebook.

Vera Reed is a Nationally Certified Approved Provider for the NCBTMB and an instructor at the Windsor Branch Branford Hall location.She became a Licensed Massage Therapist in August/2000. Vera is owner and operator of Body Seasonings in East Granby, CT. She has been a certified hot stone therapist
2003. Vera also holds certificates in aromatherapy and chinese herbal therapy, facial rejuvenation and auricular coning. She has been instructing on these courses since 2006.
